A little knowledge

Lately, M has been on an independence kick. As much as we can, we've been going with it -- letting her dress and undress herself, teaching her how to brush her own teeth, etc.. I've even been teaching her where diapers go once they're dirty (in the Diaper Genie, of course). As much fun as it is having M become more self-sufficient, there have been things that have come back to bite me in the rear.

For instance, when I was in the shower today, M decided to practice two of her favorite skills. She opened the door to our bedroom (I did NOT teach her this, she learned it herself, and I wish I could unring that particular bell). She then sneaked off to her room, where she proceeded to use her new diaper genie knowledge to stuff about a dozen brand-new diapers into the pail. As usual, I was torn between pride in her accomplishment and despair at the inconvenience of it.

(and yes, I did fish the diapers out. Those suckers are expensive!)

Hey, I don't blame you one bit... I'da fished those diapers out, too. The independent stages... frustrating sometimes, yes. I agree.
